Why We
Exist
We exist to establish and sustain an independent financial infrastructure for the FAMU community — one that
cannot be controlled, defunded, or directed by any political administration — ensuring FAMU students,
faculty, and alumni always have a champion acting in their interest.
Record-breaking freshmen
Incoming freshmen average a 23 ACT and 3.9 GPA.
They show up
86% of freshmen return sophomore year with a 2.0 GPA or better.
But too few finish
Only 3 out of 5 graduate in four years.
UNIVERSITY GIVING
University giving has dropped nearly 40% since FY 2022–23.
Needs are the same
Student needs haven’t changed — that’s why your support matters.

THE THREAT
IS REAL
For 139 years, Florida A&M University has stood as a beacon of Black excellence. Today, that legacy faces a threat that has nothing to do with our students and everything to do with political interference at the highest levels of Florida's public institutions.
Our students didn't create this crisis. They shouldn't pay for it. So we built something free from outside influences that directly support students, faculty, and staff.

FAMU
IS OURS
The Rattler Freedom Fund is a financially sovereign institution, funded by and for the Rattler family — independent of the university, independent of the state.
